Cold Hardiness

Cold Hardiness

Cold hardiness research focusing on peaches, apples, and blackberries. To assess hardiness of dormant buds, the polar pods (fig. 1) are used to heat buds when placed into a freezer. The heaters and freezer simulate the drop in temperature during an evening frost event in the spring.
